Operation Vital Signs (OVS)

Conducted July 21-22, 2026, “Operation Vital Signs (OVS)” was the first national tabletop exercise designed specifically for the Healthcare and Public Health Sector. OVS was co-sponsored by the Health Sector Coordinating Council Cybersecurity Working Group and Health-Information Sharing and Analysis Center (ISAC) and facilitated by Booz Allen Hamilton.  The two-day virtual exercise was structured to examine both enterprise-level and cross-sector response and recovery, including the potential effects of a widespread disruption on critical functions and patient safety. At the sector level, the exercise focused on collective impacts, coordination, shared resources, and the flow of information among health sector organizations, government agencies, associations, and other sector partners.
